"By the year 2500, the Earth's surface has become completely urbanized. In the foreground, we can see one of the smaller hydroponic algae farms designed and built over 200 years ago to feed this sector's population of well over two billion, bracketed by a pair of the multilevel elevated highway systems that connect every major commercial center. Beyond that, one can find a band of factory and recycling facilities, followed by massive warehouse blocks and a commercial district. The center of the city is occupied entirely by support and loading facilities for the Laolia Space Elevator, currently engaged in transporting supplies and personnel to colony ships bound for Jupiter's more habitable moons."
